I have both good news and bad news as I write this update. The bad news is that we are still wading our way through the editing phase as far as novel publication is concerned :/. BUT, we are getting close to being done! I promise! The good news is that I finally made the leap to Instagram! Now you can stay in touch regarding updates and blog posts by following me as authorlynnwallace :D. Hopefully the next time I post an update I will have more to report... Fingers crossed that we will make exciting progress in the next month! As always, thank you for your support and stay tuned as I bring this book to life!

Hello again :).
The journey has been long and tedious. It took me a solid month to wade through the entire edited draft, analyzing every correction and deciding what to keep and what to change. I'd always thought that I was pretty good at stuff like spelling and grammar and punctuation - turns out, my personal writing style isn't always "correct"! Go figure ><. So, I've had to find a balance between how the editors say should the manuscript should read, and how I feel it should read. The end result is (hopefully) the best version of the story that I can offer. The good news is the initial edit of my book has been completed and completely reviewed by me! Phew! Of course, the editing phase isn't over yet. I've just received the second draft back from the editing team. It should have all of my "corrections" from reviewing the first draft, and now all I have to do is review it again and approve the changes. Of course, if there is anything else that still needs fixing, that will mean another round of back-and-forth between the me and the editing team. But we should be MUCH closer to a final draft, and the last few changes (if any) should go quickly. With any luck, by my next post, we will have FINALLY moved on to the next phase in the publishing process! Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for future updates! Hello everyone!!!
Last time I posted, I was giddy with delight over receiving a publishing contract. Now, a month later, we are in the full swing of making this book a reality. Currently, we are in the "editing phase." That means I sent the complete manuscript into my publisher after accepting the contract, and they passed it to the editing department. The editing department went through my novel with a fine-tooth comb, looking for spelling mistakes, punctuation issues, and grammar errors. All such instances (and there were more than a few, unfortunately ><) were noted in the document and sent back to me. Now the ball is in my court - it's my responsibility to go over every single page and either approve or disapprove the various changes the editing team has suggested. All to make sure that the story which will be put onto paper is the best and most accurate version of the tale I set out to tell. So that's where we stand! I'll be working my way through the edited manuscript over the course of the next several weeks - hopefully by my next post, this part of the process will be completed and we will have moved on to the next phase! Thank you again for your support and stay tuned for further updates! Only a few weeks ago, I posted that I had officially submitted my manuscript to publishers and was waiting to hear back. I was anticipating that there would be quite a lot of the "submit & wait" game - and never before have I been so happy to be wrong!
Covenant Books said YES!!! They offered me a publication contract, which I have wholeheartedly signed and submitted back to them. My manuscript is now is the editing phase, and I should receive it back to review for changes within the next few weeks. There are still several stages to work through, including formatting and cover design, but the publishing process has indeed begun! The best part? The Heart of Everything will soon be available in stores and online, in both print and digital formats! And by "soon," I mean like around 8 months or so. Maybe that's not super fast, but quality products take time, and I want to offer my readers the best :). Thank you for your support and stay tuned for updates as my book is transformed from a dream into a reality! I have *finally* submitted my manuscript to a publisher! (Insert happy squealing and jumping for joy here.) I realize it's only the first step, but I want to take a minute to savor in this tiny triumph. I've been waiting for this moment for almost ten years now, ever since the very first novel idea popped into my head and I realized I wanted to write a book. So in a way, this small step for an author really is a giant leap for me :-).
I realize we are now entering the phase of "submit, wait; submit, wait; submit, wait." It's a bit of a long, boring process, but a necessary one; to make sure my stories are in the right hands for the journey from imagination to print, some patience will be required. Thank you again for your support and please continue to wish me luck! This is it, folks! The publication process starts now. I’ll be jumping through the flaming hoops of submission requirements, balancing on the tightrope of negotiation, and juggling deadlines in my quest to find the perfect publisher… All so I can bring you, the reader, the very best stories I have to share 😊.
